One business process that will be affected by the social media functionality of the mobile ordering app is communication management as it will bridge the gap between external networking and internal integration (Tamassia, Stransky, Acharya, & Ranganath, 2014). For example, if there is a problem in the quality of the product or service, instant communication between the customer and the company representative is launched to resolve the issue.
Social media integration functionality is a complicated feature and will require sufficient customer data to enable the business identify them. Customers will be required to provide their social media usernames and regularly update them to keep the social media integration tool in their apps active. The social media integration functionality gives the business an opportunity to market its products and services to a wide range of customers because the mobile app will boost the number of audience for the company’s social media page. Any person that downloads the mobile ordering up will be required to register through his social media profile and update personal information. However, the social media integration functionality comes with disadvantages due to its complexity and online-based feature (Tanpure, Shidankar, & Joshi, 2013). The social media integration tool is a complex functionality and will require regular maintenance to keep track of its performance and ensure that its functionality is intact. In addition, the functionality is vulnerable to malware due to its online-based feature thus exposing the business to fraud.
