Children’s goals in Early Childhood Education

The first time a child is taken to school at the age of about 5years, they may not have concrete goals that they want to achieve in their lives. The main goals of kindergarten children would be to make new friends in school which promotes social development. At the same time, they will undergo through cognitive, physical and emotional development. For instance, they can learn new songs, how to draw, how to behave while with other children and how to react when they wrong someone or when they are wronged.

Teacher’s Responsibilities and Roles

It is the role of the teachers to ensure that they provide an environment that is right and conducive for the children to learn. In this regard, they are responsible for providing the right learning tools such as books, chairs, boards, drawings, and compose music that would help in improving the social, cognitive and physical development of the children. It is also the role of the caregivers to learn how to communicate with the children to facilitate understanding. It is also their responsibility to report to parents regarding how their children are performing in school.

Appropriate Learning Environment

It is important for teachers to ensure that safety is the first priority when seeking the right learning environment. In this regard, the appropriate learning environment for children should be indoors. However, the teachers should ensure that the room is warm with enough lighting and also the right tools necessary to facilitate learning. The indoor room should have the chairs, books, play ground, and resting area. It means that this type of learning environment needs to be big and spacious enough to make both the teachers and the children comfortable.

Things Children Learn in Early Childhood Education Program

Some of the things that children can learn in their early childhood education program include: how to communicate with people. The teachers or their caregivers always teach them the right words to use when asking for something or when they want to do something. At the same time, children can learn how to relate appropriately with others especially their age-mates and elders. When it comes to academic lessons, the children can learn the aspects of drawing, coloring, singing, counting, and counting which they are taught by their teachers.

Children’s Role in Their Learning Environment

Children in early education program may not know much about their roles, but their caregivers and teachers should always reinforce to them what they need and expect from them. Among their roles in the learning environment is to remain attentive and listen to the teachers. They should not cause unnecessary disruptions or make jokes when the teacher is teaching them. The children should also concentrate to show that they have some desire for learning.

Parents’ Expectations

When parents take their children to school, they expect to see a change in them. For instance, it is their expectations that their children will know how to communicate with people effectively. They also expect to see a change in the behaviors of the children knowing that their caregivers or teacher are doing their best to direct them in the right direction.
