Sample Philosophy Essays on The Existence of God

Many people argue that the natural world and human existence in the universe point towards a divine creator that brought all of this existence. To the best of human knowledge, the earth consists of a plethora of conditions that allow for our existence. Thus, no otherworld can match the earth. Human enjoy various ingredient of life in the Universe such as the earth being located at a right distance from the sun to maintain favorable temperatures to ensure and sustain human existence on the planet. Moreover, what caused the universe to start points towards God’s existence, despite great scientists claiming that the earth started from an enormous energy and light explosion, they have not yet proved their claim. Moreover, many argue that God controls various laws of nature, such as the rotation of the earth on its axis without slipping off. Therefore, the emergence of life in the world is outlandishly unexpected, given various factors had to occur to give rise to humans. These are compelling arguments, but there is need to ask the question whether God exists or does not exist to ensure that we effectively understand this issue. According to the arguments, God truly exists as He controls the laws of nature, and I believe He created the universe and located the earth at the right distance from the sun and provided necessities, such as water, to sustain the existence of human life.

God truly exists, and there are some reasons to consider in order to prove His existence. The earth’s complexity point towards God existence. There are a set of reasons that proves that God created the earth, and sustain it today. God designed the Earth in a perfect size to allow it to hold a layer of gases including oxygen, and nitrogen that could support plant, animal, and human life. This implies that if God could have designed the earth in a small size, human and animal life could have survived as it could be impossible for the earth to hold the layers of the atmosphere. Also, if God could have designed the universe in a large size, the atmosphere layers could have been widely distributed resulting to thin layers, hence, human and animals could be subjected to harmful sun rays. Also, God placed the earth at the right distance away from the sun. Consider temperature variations from -39 to +120 degrees Celsius. These temperatures imply that if the earth were located far from the sun, humans would all freeze. Were the earth located near the sun, humans would all be adversely affected by the sun’s heat and rays. God designed the earth to be at a distance where it would favor human, plant, and animal life (Mawson, 2012). As such, He designed the Universe to rotate on its axis, and located it at a distance from the sun to ensure that the temperatures remain favorable to ensure and sustain human existence. Besides, he located the moon at a right distance away from the earth to regulate gravitational pull. This ensures that the ocean waters do not spill onto the earth. The Creator also availed water characterized by tasteless, odorless, and colorless nature onto the planet. Water makes two-thirds of the human body; hence, it is evident that no living thing can survive without it. Its characteristics are well-suited for life on the planet. Water allows human to live in a favorable environment by regulating the temperature changes. This is characterized by its wide range of freezing and boiling points. Moreover, water is identified as a universal solvent, and as such, it allows for the distribution of nutrients and minerals throughout a human’s body. Also, water is identified as a neutral substance; hence, it allows drugs and foods to be absorbed and used by the body.

Many people do argue on what really caused the Universe since it had a start. Scientists point the start of the Universe to an enormous light and energy explosion, while others point the earth’s cause to God. However, the scientists’ claims do not satisfy how the ingredients of life emerged. If humans performed a chemistry experiment of forming our solar system, over and over again, it would take millions of years. In addition, if the experiments were successful, the question is whether the sun would be situated at the right distance from the earth such that human existence would not be adversely affected by the sun’s hot temperatures and rays. Conservatively, one would say this is impossible. Thus, it is evident that God created the solar system as outlined by the Bible scriptures. He created the sun, earth, and moon and situated them at the right distances from each other and designed them in perfect sizes to sustain human life (Jackson, 2014). Moreover, scientists claim that life emerged from the explosion of energy and light. Certainly, there are no sources to prove their claim. To prove this, one should consider making life from non-life. This is a small feat, but it remains one of the greatest puzzles for scientists across the universe. Humans have been unable to create life from non-life in the lab, proving that God exists, and He is the one who created life. He also created various substances, such as water, to sustain human existence in the world.

The way the Universe operates points toward God’s existence. The earth operates by uniform laws of nature, and that proves that God controls the earth’s processes as it is impossible for humans to have a control of such processes. Much of life may be uncertain, but consider what humans account for each day. The amusement of many people is that the laws of nature critique why the earth’s gravity remain consistent, and why the earth rotates on its axis for 24 hours without slipping of. Many people wonder how these laws of nature are consistent, reliable, and never change. As such, we need to understand that the earth behaves the way it does because God controls the earth’s natural processes. Also, the earth processes do not obey any rules and that points out that the God is in control of the how the Universe operates. God designed the earth in a way that various actions would be controlled by the laws of nature (Schumacher, 2011). Consider that the speed of light does not change on earth or galaxies far away from humans and that the earth never tilts away from its axis; this proves that God exists.

God makes sense of the origin of the earth and human existence. God created the earth and designed it in a perfect size and put it at the right distance from the solar system. This was to create a favorable environment that sustains plant, animal, and human life. He also makes sense of the emergence of the human intelligence. Scientists argue that the universe was caused by an enormous explosion of energy and light. However, the Bible scriptures state that God created the earth on His own will. Moreover, God makes sense on the way the universe operates by uniform laws of nature. This implies that He controls everything that humans depend on in the universe.
