RUBRIC: (TITLE): Teaching/Learning/Analysis Project: POST BSN TO ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSING OPPORTUNITIES
Collaboration with my Professor/Clinical Instructor that helped me come up with a topic to identify post BSN graduate advanced practice opportunities to assist graduate BSN nurses on the pro’s and con’s of five different graduate nursing opportunities. Detail of concept/idea: The purpose of this project is to inform Post BSN nurses on at least five different advanced practice nursing opportunities and to list step by step details on how to pursue graduate nursing degrees and careers for BSN nurses that want to continue furthering their nursing knowledge and degrees. The five Advanced Practice Opportunities will include the prerequisites (if any are required) of each APRN opportunities, specialty BSN hours in specific areas such as ICU in order to even apply for graduate nursing opportunities. The five graduate nursing path’s that I will dissect will be Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Mental Health), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Certified NurseMidwife (CNM), and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). Proposed tool: An in-depth PowerPoint will be included to show and analysis and provide statistical data on each opportunity, graph’s will be included as well for each post BSN APRN opportunities of the above five different post BSN advanced practice nursing opportunities. The step by step instructions on how to prepare oneself for and step by step on how to apply to each program; I will also include the length of each of these programs (including part-time length and full-time length of each opportunity, the locations of each nationwide distant learning program, and traditional in person, the top programs across the nation, available scholarships for post BSN nurses trying to advance his or her nursing career path, the cost, any required BSN specialty hours needed to apply to each program, the need for each of these advanced practice opportunities.(how much of a shortage of each path currently and predicted future advanced nursing shortages there are, and the average pay of each degree pays after degree completion.
