RE: Please Help Me Improve My Grades
Dear [Professor’s Name],
I love the unit that you teach us as your approach is very captivating. My colleagues and I always look forward to your sessions. I have been putting a lot of effort into learning more about the course and spent significant amount of time and resources on writing the most recent paper that you used to grade us. I thought I had done a reasonably good paper, but that was not reflected in my scores. It came as a surprise and has left me wondering if I left anything out or used ineffective study techniques. I have looked at the papers of my peers who got better grades but I could not get any insights from them. Therefore, I will appreciate your advice on how I can improve my grades in your course. Pointing out where I went wrong in the paper we did will be a good start.
Thank you,
Susan

RE: How Do I Get Better Scores in Class?
Dear [Professor’s Name],
Hello. I appreciate the effort you put in making us learn and understand the unit you teach us. However, I am having trouble understanding the concepts that you instruct us in class. I do not know whether it results from not having the right academic background or the fact that the unit is rather difficult. I would like to score good grades in this unit and have realized that I need your help to overcome the challenges I face. I do not know how we can approach this; therefore, I will embrace the ideas you suggest.
I look forward to your response and will be very grateful for the help.
Best regards,
Don
