Memory Loss

Research currently shows that memory loss is highly connected with high intake of cholesterol related foods. This may cause a person to be diagnosed with dementia which is a risk associated with lack of good memory (Dr. Leslie et al., para 2).

The findings of literature review related to memory loss were that it involves a strain of all nurses that are in charge of memory loss patients (Brodaty et al., para 4). Therefore, it was decided that these nurses should seek related information based on their professionalism so as to offer comprehensive care to patients of memory loss. Also, memory loss victims bring in a lot of constraints to their nurses as they have to strain more to be at par with their care (Brodaty et al., para 4). Therefore, it is necessary that these nurses acquire professional skills and abilities to enable them to overcome any strains they face while caring for their memory loss patients.

Memory loss leads to impairment of thinking skills. It directly causes one to be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease (Kandel et al., para 1). One’s brain stops functioning and displays fewer abilities to connect networks of one’s words, meaning, and ideas. This eventually deters one from being able to retrieve any information they previously gathered (Kandel et al., para 1).

Based on psychology theory, memory loss is associated with aging factors. As one grows older, they have more things to think about and fewer things to remember (Craik et al., para 1). Findings of this research were that older people have a declining rate of cognitive abilities while young people have vibrant cognitive skills. Therefore, the conclusion was that psychological theory states that old people are less healthy and have fewer abilities to connect their network of thinking clearly (Craik et al., para 1). Their physical strength is also reduced, and this reduces their ability to involve themselves in activities that trigger the brain to think. Hence, they are associated with high memory loss (Craik et al., para 1).
