Culture has a great impact on communication. Culture is a set of values that members of a certain group share and hold. Such values affect the thinking and actions of people and in addition it affects the criteria in which an individual judges’ others. This essay will outline how these cultures affect communication.

Global communication is influenced by cultural differences among the two groups. For instance, nations that are more industrialized rely more on technological communication. Face to face communication is minimal in such settings. In countries and geopolitical areas, which are not technologically advanced, face to face communication is commonplace. Communication which uses more of technology as the form of exchange relies mostly on written messages rather than face to face communication. The difference of culture in such an instance comes when that country does not fall into a high-context or low-context culture.

Different life experiences among people is also another form of culture that affects communication among people. For instance, individuals from an African setting may have a challenge communicating with people from a Western countries setting. This is because western countries are more industrialized than African countries and thus individuals may have less connection of their interviews. On the same example, individuals from an African country may have an easier communication among them since they share a lot of similarities and experiences.

Culture is one form of barrier that highly affects communication among individuals and countries. Some countries share different ideologies like communism and socialism. These ideologies are also a form of culture that negatively impacts communication among people and countries. In conclusion, culture, values and norms impacts any form of communication in so many different evident ways.
