Business Studies Paper on Personal Development
The chosen event is manners and etiquette to practice during the common lunch or dinner interview. The reason for this choice is because lunch or dinner interviews are becoming popular events in the current world. It is inevitable to prepare for all kinds of interviews and be ready when a potential employer invites you for an interview in a restaurant.
In this presentation, I have learned keeping time, dress code and to keep in mind that the conversation is the most important element of this meeting. The sitting arrangement of the dinner and the most important people sit on the right and the left side of the host. When ordering, one should neither order the cheapest or the most expensive meal on the menu. One should be well conversant with the kind of meal ordered and how to eat it to avoid unnecessary embarrassments. Proper dining etiquette should be observed at all stages of dining because people let their guards down when eating and the interviewer will be taking note. Alcohol drinking is not recommended the interviewee even the interviewer orders for a drink one should not be obliged to. The napkin should be placed on the laps during the dinner and if one has to walk out of the room before finishing the meal, the napkin should be placed on the chair. After eating is when the napkin is placed on the table.
In future, I will be well dressed for restaurant interviews and be focused on the conversation. Wait until everyone is served before starting to eat and remember the host should be the one to settle the bill. I will practice dining etiquette and be professional as having a lunch or dinner interview and other meetings.
